Marshall Guitar Amplifiers
Jim Marshall established his company in 1960 initially
selling drums, soon to be followed by guitars and amplifiers.
By 1962 Marshall began manufacturing amplifiers and the legend
of Marshall Amplification was born.
Marshall's first amplifier was the Marshall JTM45 which
appealed to emerging rock guitarists who wanted a redefining
tone that allowed them to establish their own sound. One of
these early pioneers was Pete Townshend whose need for greater
on-stage sound inspired Jim to build the first ever 100 watt
Marshall guitar head. This also provided the inspiration behind
the idea of stacking two 4x12", one on top of the other, giving
birth to the iconic Marshall Stack.
Marshall Amplifiers soon became the standard for rock and
other guitarists and this status has persisted to date, thanks
to Marshall's high standards and continuous striving for new
ways to deliver great sounds for guitarists at all levels.
The current range of Marshall amps and cabinets includes the
